Steak 'n Shake on Dixie Highway in Louisville, KY was the worst experience I have ever experienced while dining out. We waited to be seated for at least 5 minutes.
Every employee just looked at us and walked past us. While being seated the employee only complained about working there but apologized for our wait but the only explanation given was they were short staffed. The restaurant was not busy and I saw no reason for the wait. After being seated we were served by the rudest person ever.
It took over 45 minutes to get our food and when we got our food the fries were cold, the lettuce on burgers was horrible, and the food was sloppy. When I asked to speak with a manager it took 10 minutes before we were approach by a man who said he was assistant manager. His name was Ferris and he had no customer service skills what so ever. He never apologized and didn't offer any type of compensation for our troubles.
He basically just agreed with us that it was the worst service ever and blamed it on the fact that he was allotted the labor hours to help make the store a better place of business. He downed the restaurant worse than any customer ever could had. He said it was the worst place he had ever worked. He complained about the general manager saying that she used all the labor hours for when she worked so she wouldn't have to deal with situations like these.
I left feeling terrible about the whole experience and will NEVER go back to that horrible place again. When the assistant manager just agrees with you about there being horrible service there is something seriously wrong. Please Steak 'n Shake close your doors and have a grand reopening after you replace most of the staff and clean the place.
That is the only way you are going to redeem yourselves.
